OK so humans do have alight advantage over the elves (NE that is..) but it has come to my attention that NE airpower do pose a problem for enemy bases, especially human bases. For instance, once i played against a noob on Kalimdor server...i caught him off guard early in the game and destroyed 3 of his outposts leaving his main base isolated by my towers.
Unluckily (for me) i left a route un"towered" and his airforce sneaked through made up mostly by "two-headers" supported by 10 fairies(i actually counted). He got two of my bases b4 i managed to crush his air...but it costed me three squadrons of my best GR's just to stop him.
So my question is this...how do i effectively counter NE's air units without only relying on GR's and "elf-flyers" as air defence? Let's not talk about the pathetic and you-can-do-without-them flying machines. Are there any good human ground units to counter them? Cos' i find it hard to reserve a few riflemen and i need tanks to deal with enemy bases...|||Water Elementals. No, I'm serious. Lvl 3 WEs are ranged tauren, and with some rifles to back them up hyppos will be dead in seconds.|||you let him have 3 expos?|||Let's talk gyros.
Chimaeras can't attack air. Which means that the gyrocopters, even though insanely weak, are invincible against chims. And because you can actually pump out enough to have a decent air defence in a very short amount of time, they are excellent if the air is spotted too late. The faeries could pose a problem, but with flak cannons to procc their phase out move and enough gyros, they shouldn't be that much of a threat.|||mass tanks... gg|||WE aren't ranged tauren, they are made from water... =P, but hes right.|||Gyros, they build fast and they could attack land too. I think sorcs could help with the slowing.|||Are sorcs even an option when he has fairys?
