crazy UD vss. Orc game

[:1]Ok, this is probably a bad post because:

A. I don't know the name of the map and,

B. I do'nt have the replay

I realized that I played an awesome game, only AFTER I exited out of the game.

I won, but it was quite difficult.

I went quick fiend with lich, got 3 fiends and crept twice.

Got 3 more (total of 6 for those too bored to count) and attacked down low, where I thought him to be, and yup, there he was...

Burrows loaded up, and I took out one of them when a swarm of grunts came from behind and swept out most of my fiends before I could tp.

I had started researching my towers when I didn't see his hero or units in his base, which was good, because he came to follow my battle defeat. He retreats from towers, I go to gargs to get him from behind.

I attack from behind after scouting for expo's (none to be found) and took out another burrow before a couple of hh came out... i run.

So, now i'm stuck with 8 gargs and an orc army of hh...

What to do? I went with necro's and ghouls quickly and went in with everything I could, and happened to have a fresh DK with me as well.

Attack failed again, but did considerable damage, lvl 6 for lich.... lvl 6 for his wolf rider and 4 for the healer.

He proceeds to attack and destroy my expo with his hero's, in which case I already have more necro's and ghouls, so i force him out, but not until after i nova and coil that healer.

Time to attack

I go down again, but meet those hh with my ghouls (gargs gone) and necro's.

While they are going at it fiercly, the lich slips by and d and d's his base....

No more barracks and down a burrow. Lich dies to two wolves and a couple of lightnings, but the necro's are still doing their thing and the ghouls keep coming, destroying the base.

Are ghouls and necro's only good vss the hh or are they a good meat sheild vss grunts too?

Normally, i'd go shee's, but I made him go hh with the gargs, and everything i sent died, so i figured i'd raise the dead!|||Well necro's can be an winner with there skeleton warriors .. and if you reschearch defence/offensive upgrades, they improve there armor/attack too (if you didn't knew that)...

But you can win an fight "easilly" with necro's ... you can also get meat wagons with exhume corps .. so they can spawn skely's right away.

Anyway, what I do against orcs is mostly go shees and also have some necro's with me .. it is just very usefull to have more units running around to do damage AND to block/bother the enemy ;)|||Quote:

Bull**** !|||It seemed that the grunts would have torn apart the skelly's though. I'm thinking that they were the tide turner for me due to the HH.|||Actually, decent Orcs that go headis normally get a lodge too and would own your necros with the spirit walkers they have all ready and waiting. I'd simply suggest going destros. Chainmorph, helped by nova, will have them kill all the headis in a few seconds. Headis won't deal damage due to impale. Any bloodlust or spiritlink that might be around will get absorbed.

By the way, normally you don't want gargs vs Orcs. A handful of bats owns x gargs. Also, you don't want to let your fiends get owned by grunts at t1. The grunts are stronger at t2 (unless you have shees and frost armor), but only because they're helped by a TC and raiders with ensnare. As long as those aren't there (aka t1), you can have your fiends dance around while taking hardly any damage.|||well, i wasn't too good about the dancing the fiends around, that's for sure.

Didn't really make it very far into tier 2, but he did have a spirit lodge, i'll have to watch for that and get dessy's instead next time

And yeah, gargs are pretty much useless except aa anymore.

I didn't even have my CL out yet, so impale was a mute point, although, a good one.

What do you mean by "chainmorph" though? I like the plan though, that's for sure.|||Chainmorph is what you do to have destros with mana:

* Leave your stats as stats until just before a battle.

* Just before you fight, you do the following.

* Morph one stat into a destro.

* Use this destro to absorb the mana on the next stat.

* Now morph that stat.

* Then use the new destro to again absorb mana of the next stat.

* Morph the next stat.

* etc.

That way, all your destros have almost full mana and will own pretty much anything.|||but doesn't the mana eat away pretty quick?

Even so, right before a battle, that's a 900 hp, 5 armor 40+attack unit, that fly's. Pretty cool!I may have to practice that first though....|||I tried it some times now and it works pretty good, 400 mana (or more) can't be consumed that fast ... Anyway, it was really funny, one orc player was just being irrittaing (leaving his complete army at his base and going after my expo with his bm, killing my workers ... Instead of running fort and try to kill the bm (wich would be hard) I went to his base and destroyed every unit in there (possesed his taurens, and killed the zerkers and witch doctors with everything else, including destro's.

I knew were everything was, because I had an shade :P (shade are really usefull for UD btw, I played against an NE player ones and I had no idea what he was going for (first attacked me with archers and hunts) then I was creeping, but made a shade to check out what he was up to, and he went mass dryads (I had about 5 banshee's or smth ..) so I massed catapults (or the equivalent for UD) and pwnd his dryads with about 3 of them (I used the tactic to wait before he attacked me, so I had the benefit of my base as protection) and it totally rocked, he reduced my army, but I completely killed his (and after that, just went after him and he was an goner :P) if anybody would like to see that, I have an replay of that ;)|||lol chainmorph is so cheap T-T but it works i dont use it much cause its crazy imba but yeah its a good strat i dont really use shees cause i prefer necros or fiend/dest strat over shees but i occasionally throw in some shees for curse and anti magic which is helpful vs hero nukers cause it absorbs i think 200 or 400 magic dmg b4 time limit or it dies out so yeah an exp ud player can use shees really well key to using necros and exhume corpse if udidnt know is to turn off auto cast while u creep and when battle strats leave army behind wagons auto cast raise dead then move skeles into the battle to kill out the army as tankers then send the heavier meat helping them to last longer as long as the skeles keep out and u can dance the heavy melee well but otherwise its pretty useless vs wand of negoation(forgot what its called) and vs hu priest with dispel which makes the skele free exp but otherwise its good unless ur vsing a good player who has alot of exp vs most strats|||I accept with information: Chainmorph is what you do to have destros with mana:Leave your stats as stats until just before a battle.; Just before you fight, you do the following.
