Strategy Help

I have a solo strategy that used to work great but now that battle.net puts me up agianst better players, it doesn't work too well anymore. Please help me out with it.

THIS IS A HUMAN STRATEGY. I PREFER USING THE WORD PEON

-4 peons to gold, 1 to altar -----> Pally

-(creating peons)

-1st created peon to wood

-one gold mining peon to build house (for rest of game)

-switches off rally from gold to wood until 3 are chopping wood

-peon that built altar builds barracks

-gold mining peon builds upgrade center as soon as I get 60 wood

Anyway, that's the beggining for you. I get 1 footman in the beggining but then mass riflemen. I start creeping when i get 2 rifles and a foot. I choose pally because he heals and his ult rocks. Laugh all you want but I like him. Although do give me advice on other heros. My problem is mass attacks (such as blizzard and rain of fire) which kill my guys really fast. I've been losing a lot lately and have dropped under 50% by 3 wins. Please help!

Also: When I win, I usually win by tier 2. I do upgrade|||Quote:

Then it's time to try something new. That's why humans rule Earth - because we can adapt if needed. And it seems you need to change.

I recommend Archmage + Footmen combo, because that's pretty much a standard thing and it's also the most easy to pull off (thought I prefer a Firelord instead). Paladin works best against undead, but I wouldn't use him in every game, and I certianly wouldn't mass riflemen in every game.

Also, whatever strategy you choose, I recommend a Bloodmage with siphon mana as a second hero. A bloodmage with siphon mana is always good, you can steal mana from enemies and give them to your first hero for more summons/heals/bolts/whatever.

You're in luck then, it's not used that often in solo. However if it's really a big problem, you could try one of the following:

-Move out of the way

-Get spellbreakers, since they are magic immune and the are awesome even without their immunity (focus on casters and heroes).|||Quote:

rofl. . . . . . . . . . . |||Most players start off with an Archmage which goes Elemental/Aura and footies. You should start creeping and defending your army as your opponent will likely try to harass and creep jack you. Once you get close to tier 2, pump some rifles and then get two Arcanes and a Workshop. Make a bunch of priests, sorceresses, mortars and spellbreakers, with either MK or Paladin as a second hero.

By this time you'll likely want an expansion, because Humans need the gold from now on. Make sure you scout your opponent and be on top of what he's getting. If you have a good opportunity to strike, do so. Your level 4-5 Archmage should be dominating everything at this point. After you get an expansion, upgrade to tier 3.

Once tier 3 is complete, get a bunch of knights. If you can, get a second expansion and train Gryphon Riders. From now, you're pretty much on your own. Try to fight in open spaces, because formation is especially important for humans. Micro units well, and always keep a scroll of healing and potions for emergency.

An alternate strategy is to get two Aviaries (sp?) instead of two Arcanes. Get dragonhawks until you reach tier 3, then get gryphons. This strategy is effective with knights to take out any ranged units they might have.

Remember, early on try to stay on the defensive unless your army outnumbers his, or if you got high levels on your Archmage quickly.

Thoughts?|||I agree with blood.wraith on most of what he said

just remember to hit UD hard at tier 2 with rifles, casters, and mortars, don't play around or he will most likely crush you at tier 3. against UD i recommend either MK/Paladin/Bloodmage, Paladin/MK/Bloodmage, or MK/Bloodmage/Paladin. Bloodmage is not necessary, but using banish before casting both holy light and storm bolt on his hero will significantly increase damage.|||Quote:

lol??!! O_o

anyway, humans are great at being agressive/offensive early game. Offensive towering, burrow rushing, with am/foots/militia/we's. However, this is only done on smaller maps, ie turtle. the thing is, humans dont have to be defensive, this was more true in the earlier stages of FT, its kind of changed now.|||burrow rushing?|||Ya as of the new patch Humans got burrows and orcs had to settle for pig farms again. =/

Hehe he caught you up on that one SL :P|||Quote:
