Mass gargs vs ne= gg?

I just played a very skilled UD player, where the game eventually reached a point where he had mass gargs, and i massed dryad, seeing as how it was basically the only logical counter to it... However, mass gargs vs mass dryads the gargs win considering they do more damage, have more armor, and only have 25 health less, not to mention they only cost two food... SO.. the only way im thinking its possible to counter this, is to either get mass archers, which will get steam rolled by the heroes, or ghouls.. either that or get the panda/ DR to silence their heros and let my panda aoe the gargs.. thanks in advance.|||Im no Nelf player but I think warden/panda is very good vs this, unless its already outdated. Fan of Knives + Haze/Breath of fire pwns gargs. Go archer/dott. other than that I really dont know cuz i play orc. :/|||Quote:

No.

And this is to appease the bugged minimum message length.|||Warden's a bit weak to UD nuking. But try DH/Panda with an Orb of Venom on your DH. Breath of Fire at level 2+ rapes gargs ~~ gl|||I would suggest investing in hippos. Though their armor and attack power is slightly less than the gargs, they have a faster cooldown between attacks, 115 more HP, move faster, use the same amount of food, and cost less to produce than gargs.|||The good old NE vs UD logic goes: Gargs > NE, Panda > Gargs, Healscrolls > Panda --> UD wins. Note that you will only hear this logic from NE players.

Well meh. Sure, gargs are kinda stupid, but with Panda second, Orb on DH (or even dual Orb) as SteniS already said, you should be alright. maybe add a few stray archers to stand at the very back and do some additional damage, and maybe also a few hippos, though they too get kinda owned by nova.|||yeah throw panda, even panda lvl 5 sux, panda & warden get nuked, panda hazes, what ud does? runs away with ghouls and heroes (of course shooting coil/nova/impales behind) flies with gargs behind trees/on an island and Stone Forms...|||Quote:

Yeah but thats just theorycrafting...

and yeah i forgot DH with orb. He really kills air fast =O|||hippos dies so fast to coil nova swarm tt

mass wells and aps =P|||Hippogriphs work fine. I remember that there was a time when a NE v UD strat was hippogriph archers and it countered ghoul/garg pretty well.|||I second LSB, actually. I once tried massing gargs vs. NE, and got my butt handed to me by hipporiders/dotts. When he saw the massed gargs, he dismounted the archers, and transformed the dotts. The faerie fire (they had that upgrade) and the added firepower from archers and dotts gave the hippogryphs a huge advantage.|||Panda/Warden is godd, but when UD gets gargs (tier2), you as an elf, will already picked your first and second hero. So just get hippo, talon, archers for damage. Just dont get hunts and youll be fine.|||Very skilled UD player... Sounds like me :P

Do you remember the name of the guy because I sometimes mass gargs, to tell you the truth the only reason mass gargs is good is because not every unit can attack air, their cheap, and only cost 2 food but they can eaisly be beaten by netting them, or more hippos.|||Quote:

This is true, try and get them. Also if you can, get some dott in there too. Gargs have heavy armor, which takes extra damage from the dotts when they are in crow form. Not to mention get the Feare Fire in crow form if you can. When the armor is lowered on gargs they just die. If you can combine that with the DH and Panda it should get you the win. Try and out produce him as well if you can. That always helps.|||ROFLOL < TheoryCRaft +

haha my bad. Yea they are unarmored. Regardless, that strat will still work.|||lol, gargs do like 100/fast dmg against what, 30 + 50%/average?|||ummm... isn't mass hippos generaly the best idea?

if not i guess you could go mass dryads|||yay hippos is the answer ^^

....

Dryads, on the other hand|||^^ dryads make we laugh,

now never in my life have i built a fairy dragon, r they good against air?|||yeah, sure|||My fairie dragon killed a chimera and a frost wyrm all by itself!|||Quote:

Generally no, but magic attacks don't hit them. That means they're good against Frosties, gryphons, destroyers, and any casters. Most all other air screws them over.|||Fairy Dragons kick ass. I've massed them in team before and *****. lmao.|||Quote:

Just replace [fairy dragons] with ANY unit available in game and that still works... (tanks, grifss, casters, fiends, whatever)|||wisps and shades as well.|||Mass detonate FTW!

but you know what I mean...|||yeah watch out for teh oobOr shade surround of GG4tron! T.t

  1. Hippos>gargs at anti-air. Tested it.
Archers>gargs thanks to their Elune's grace resistance to piercing and magic attacks.
Dont get hippo riders. Gargs outnumber hippo riders 2 to 1 and hippo riders are less effective against air than hippogryphs.
