Need some 3v3 help please

Me and some buddies recently started trying to do 3v3 ladder. I personally usually only used to play FFA and its obvious there are some major differences. Most noteably the speed of the game is much faster. I just wondered if I could get some advice from you guys. First off I play NE and my friends play Orc and HU .. we all know how to play our races and have some decent exp with the game. My questions are.

1. What should we be doing early game? The strategy thats been working best for us is mass and counter but then we have guys who fast tech and we get *****. Its so chaotic.

2. Tips for scouting and when to scout? Im having trouble finding the right time to scout and I seem to have lumber problems. So sending wisp after wisp is starting to blow.

3. Any other tips or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.|||scout with the wisp that builds altar at the beginning. About the strategy part, most people(on Azeroth) tend to mass Tier 1 units from 2 building producing structures while one of the others goes with a usual strat like archs from one AoW and then dryads/bears from 2 lores.|||Basically:

HU: AM (with blizzard), BloodM. foots at start, then breakers, sorcs, mortars

OC: Any heroes, grunt start. Lategame either tauren caster or wyvern caster

NE: Any heroes basically, PotM at some point may be a good idea. Archers to mass drayads and 1-2 MGs|||Thanks so you don't think huntresses are a good idea? And my friend wants to know why rifleman wouldn't be a good idea? (like mass)|||Whatever you do, I suggest you all coordinate your actions and army builds, especially since you're steady teammates. For example, you don't ALL have to get anti-air in your armies. If the HU or NE in your team handles that with rifles or archers->dryads, that will free up your Orcs to mass grunts to their heart's content, thus strengthening you guys as a team.

Another example of coordination is like InfernalPeon said, where two of the three teammates do normal unit massing strategies and the third person does something totally off the wall to catch your enemies by surprise. For example, if in your team the NE provided archers/dryads and the Orc provided grunts/tauren, but the HU only provided light priest/AM support while fast teching to tier 3 and then cranking out a mass of Siege Engines. Maybe get two zepps and load eight tanks into them for a drop on one of your enemies' bases in the middle of a battle or something. Don't quote me on the tank drop thing, I've only heard it spoken about. Haven't seen it in action yet.|||Humans have am, they doesn't need zeps. But that sound nice.|||I always think it's great fun to do a tri-hero harass. Wardens, crypt lords, far seers, KOTGs, shadow hunters, or a combination thereof are great for really weakening one of the players on their team, and putting one of their players behind early on obviously gives you a distinct advantage.

triple dark knights and triple paladins are especially fun for me because of the capacity to keep all heroes involved alive... DKs especially due to the capacity to kill a lot of living workers, keep each other alive, and raise dead with rod of necromancy from UD shop.

on an unrelated note, i love to yo-yo the enemies: that is, have one to two armies attack one of the bases, wait for their allies to teleport in, and then have your ally/allies hit one of the other bases hard.

not sure how much of that you knew already, but... yea.|||Quote:

Well you can do something like dual AoW hunts / dual rax headis / dual rax rifles with PotM / TC / any human hero, but honestly, you might be able to hurt them earlygame, but if they're decent they'll own you lategame. You can always do a hunt start if you want, but hunts totally suck later on, while archers can still stand at the back and do damage (and if you use the combos I stated above, hunts will get in the way of foots and grunts too). I REALLY recommend AM/BlM/sorc/breaker/mortar as the standard tactic for human, as it's by far the best tac (of any race) for 3on3 imo, but obviously, you need to adapt to the enemy. If they're 3 UDs all massing destros, obviously tanks or something need to replace the sorcs, etc.|||Thanks guys .. this is all really helpful... keep it comin haha. We've started doing very well with mass and counter.. we did however get beat by a tactic we didn't see coming. The human towered himself in hard and made nothing but mortars... i didn't realize until it was too late that he was gonna bounce around with teleport and own our town halls. We had the other two guys dead but their lvl 8 BM and lvl 6 mountain king were still around causing havoc. We held out for a long time but we definetly just caught it too late.
