A excellent Elf<Orc strategy

Guys, I found a great way to defeat orcs with night elves. First off...you build like 2 moonwells....get a DH, then after the 2nd moonwell done you build a Hunters Hall, Same time, build a wall of moonwells with towers behind them. You creep all the while with your DH, and tech the tree as soon as possible. Orcs will try to get cats on tier 2 of course but then you build faerie dragons....yes faerie...to kill the cats....(phase shift makesam hard to kill vs orc) then you build up a variety of other things....like some bears, and get chims....ive beat every orc player with this...be prepared for your base to get its towers killed off though, it will seem like you will lose every once and wile with this strategy because it can be risky but dont leave if they get in your base and start hurting stuff...even if all your units are gone....orcs get it in their heads that they will beat you and lose alot of their units to your buildings themselves...trust me...point is to creep your hero and keep your hero alive to fend off attacks...and optional if you wish..is to get a panda from tavern at tier two.

I promise...this strategy owns orcs! beatin 6 in a row with it!.|||Or you could just mass dotts.

Seriously though, on a small enough map, I have something less complicated. Harass with tinker, while mass faerie dragons. They won't have aa up in time, since orc players rarely get head hunters. If that doesn't work, then mass dotts. And if that doesn't work, then be flexible. Wait, that's what you're always supposed to do.|||So..your strat is to turtle in your base and tech to teir 3? No good orc player will allow that, Demo's arent what i'd pick to siege your base...tier 2 FS/TC Grunt/Raider or a good application of Vaulanders Power Push�.

Turtling is really never a good idea, if all you have out there is a DH, vs your opponents army he essentially has map control over you. Free to expo and either siege you or just keep you scouted and mass counters.|||lol noog, bats > frarie dragons.|||Quote:

I still don't understand why you pick Tinker for that (no offense to the tinker). Any special reason why you pick him over other harrassing heroes?|||Well, here are the other options besides Tinker:

DH

Warden

KotG

PotM

Any other Tavern hero.

DH is overused, and I don't like using him to harass. He's also overused, and one of the whole points of the strategy was to use underused units/heros.

Warden would actually be a better practical choice, with superior harassing abilities, and can *somewhat* tank later game. However, she doesn't offer the surprise of "whoa, tinker? wtf is this guy doing?" However, if you are uncomfortable with tinker, she's the obvious second choice.

Kotg is fine early game, if you can harass with him, but later game, he could die too easily.

Potm is way too weak as a first hero, or a solo hero.

Tinker is not a great harasser, but only his pocket factory give experience. Later game, assuming you stay solo with him (which I think you should do with Tinker, until you reach level 6), and he reaches level six, he becomes a phenomenal tank. Typically this strategy leaves out ancient of lore, so this build leaves out most meatshields (excepting the huntress). Between archers and dotts, you'll have awesome firepower, and the faerie fire will aid the robots in becoming more useful themselves. Just add a few wisps to auto-repair the tink, and you're golden.|||I dont run into many really good orc players online....Once and awile yes...but so far ive ran into pretty stupid players...and even when those orc players see me getting faeries and start getting trolls..I still kill him....And I just teh DH b/c hes harder to kill then Warden although I do love the warden....use her for FoW harass vs humans tons....lots of fun....And like I said...its won 6 times in a row....not many good orc players out there or I just got lucky. And about the bats thing.....yeah they can eat up your faeries but I usually get some dryad for good measure and by time they realize what Im up to to try and get bats I incinerate their beastiary with around 4 chims with either full attack or level 2 attack, and corrosive breath of course.
