Neutral Heroes

Hi guys, I'm new to these forums. I actualy played ROC before TFT came out, and while im adjusting to the changes (I haven't played since ROC), Im having trouble figuring out this whole neutral hero thing. I usually dont get them as it is. I play undead, and so i suppose that's normal, but i'd like to be able to use a few of them, specifically the beastmaster, goblin tinker, and firelord. The Naga is easy, and pretty good, the alchemist is just a tank, as well as the pit lord, and the darkranger you just kinda power creep with. Any tips, strats, or replays you can give me with the Beastmaster, Firelord, and Tinker would be much appreciated. Thanks :D|||FFL once did an excellent post that described all the neutral heroes. Anyways:

Naga Sea Witch (NSW): Great support, usually used with Night Elf, though never hurts with others, I think. The two main skills are frost arrows (for slowing escaping units) and forked lightning (for nuking/minor aoe damage).

Dark ranger (DR): Dark arrows and silence. The silence is very useful when going up against spell-heavy opponents (such as undead tri-hero, summon-heavy humans, and spell casting-heavy armies)...I sometimes like to use life tap though, if I'm harassing early game, but that's usually just for kicks and giggles.

Pandaren Brewmaster (PB): Usually Breath of Fire and Drunken haze, for serious aoe effect. Very useful to have. I haven't tried it, but I've heard of drunken haze/drunken brawler, making the brewmaster a more effective tank, since he'd be harder to hit.

Beast Master: I don't have much experience with him, but he's often used with Archmage. He has a small mana pool, but can be very useful for rushes, where his summon capabilities would overwhelm the opponents.

Pit Lord (PL): NOT a tank. He has hitpoints, but not enough armor to be a serious tank. Use him to assist, but not as a main hero, by any means. Rain of Fire is nice when dealing with larger armies, and Howl of terror isn't bad assistance. But, unless you have serious healing capabilities, keep him away from the front lines.

Goblin Tinker: I love this guy. I prefer to solo him to get to level 6 faster (where he becomes quite strong). As solo, I recommend going Pocket factory/engineering. You could also use Varulf's variation, where at level 5, you get rockets instead, since they get a nice bonus from engineering. As a second or third hero, the rockets might be preferable - very useful for stopping channeling spells, and very spammable aoe.

I don't have enough experience with firelord or alchemist to really tell you a lot about them. I know that firelord has great summons, and I like his soul burn ability. As for the alchemist, he's similar to the pit lord in that he has hit points, but not much armor. Good damage, and if you can keep him healed, he'd be great. Don't just use him for his great attack speed. His healing is underused, and his chemical bomb thingy is nice to have.

As undead, you shouldn't be using too many tavern heroes. All of your heroes can target enemy heroes with their spells (aka, "nuking").

EDIT: There is some discussion about the heroes in the "best/worst heroes" thread. Look there as well.|||The Firelord (FL) is currently my favorite and most used hero. He's got Lava Spawns, which is a really imba summon (although less now then when he was first added). The spawns are kinda like weaker water elementals, only they split and becomes more after a while. Another awesome spell of his is Soul Burn, which combined damage over time with silence. He also has an autocast spell, Incinerate which he can use to deal high damage to a single unit or cause near-dead units to explode. His ultimate, Volcano, is great for destroying bases and has a wide AoE, but be careful since it affects friendly units aswell (don't put the Volcano over the Firelord, since then it might stun him and end his channeling).|||You forgot to mention that BlM can be used to feed the FL mana. ;P|||LOL. Varulf, you still play human?|||Quote:

I would, but chances are that I've already told him a few times.

Yes, I still play human. I play most races, but humans will always remain my favorite.|||Usually you would use NSW with Undead when playing against Orc with WE.IGE.Sweet's famous Tier 2 Naga Push. Basically you go the usual fiends vs Orc strat except you try to get your DK to lvl 2 and hit his Burrows hard when you have 5 fiends. That's when ideally you want to tech. Keep hit and running. Get NSW at tier two, a Slaughterhouse for Obsidian Stats.|||Thanks very much guys, all the info was very helpful. I was wondering if anyone has any replays of these heroes being used well, or knows where i can get some replays. Thank again :D|||Here's a replay of the Naga Tier 2 Push. You might see me casting Frost Arrows manually on his grunts and raiders because i find it more effective having all of his units slowed down :p.

Hope it helps, enjoy.

EDIT:My opponent was obviously a noob, and he placed his burrows closer to the outside of his base making it easy to take them down with focus fire, but you want to try to take them down even if they are at the back of his base.|||How exactly does pocket factory work.. i know it spawns those guys and they have the option to blow up, but what is the best way to use it. Do you set them on auto explode when they pop out, or do they fight and blow up on their own?|||The clockwerk goblins from the pocket factory blow up no matter what. Whether they are destroyed, or the timer runs out, they always explode. I would reccomned having them attack the thing you want them to blow up on or by and then forget about em.|||thanks alot
