When you watch the pros do this you'll always notice a wisp harvesting lumber in a tree next to the archer. When there's a unit, whatever unit it is, next to the archer, the Wizzard will Lightning Shield it. What you simply need to do is to make sure you've got a wisp right next to the archer when creeping out the spot.
Oh, and just like with the aow, you won't get any experience if the lightning shield kills a unit. Make sure you kill them using your hero or your archer.
