wtf are the use of archers?

So yeah.|||Archers are the foundations of pros.|||k. Am I a pro? Are you a pro? Doesn't a bm eat your archers in milisecs (kotg with them are fine I guess tho)|||whats the use of HH?

totaly agree..... and u need hh for aol!!!! didnt u kknow that plz say yes|||I usually get 2 archers for the purpose of neutral creeping|||he meant head hunters, not hunters hall|||Mass hh with tc aura!|||archer do many damage!!!!!|||Early game don't engage in skirmishes with the opponent if he has melee any melee units(only if he has 0 micro). Cast a burn on his heroe and retreat, if he follows then run to your base where it's easier to fend off attacks with noobwells. A high BM kills archers but a lower one can only kill a few. Early game archers aren't really counters vs orcs but they stand pretty well vs ghouls/friends/rifles/non-defended foots. Grunts will die to archer/dott and/or dryad. You also need to remember the quick speed the archer trains and it's low cost. Archers are good with micro, otherwise they're just there to save you from rushes.|||i dont really get this. this is just like saying wtf are the use of ghouls? they are so weak does so little damage!! they die like crap to chainwave, why use them? the point is that they are cheap, standard tier 1 units. i mean, you cant just go hunt start every game since it will delay your tech to tier 2. fine, if you are the hunt massing noobelf u dont need to use archers. but if you actually play normally with night elf then archer is the way to go. they can creep pretty fast (like any other good ranged units with a meat shield) and can deliver quite a lot of damage to the enemy given that you have got a meat shield in front. anyway, they will be replaced sooner or later like foots by dryads (aforementioned) or even hunts.|||Quote:

people who hate nightelf are simply a few patches back. and though wcr is a fine site, all those grubby fanbois and ne haters get on my nerves like whoa. and copying them wont make you any more popular.|||*joins the grubby bandwagon*|||I hope TeD plays Grubby soon... :>|||yeah i dun use archers also... cuz they are quite slow and die too fast .. esp to blademaster.. i open my game with hunts and tech when i have about 2 or 3..

can anyone give me tips on the pros and cons of opening with archers.. cuz my hunt opening isnt working well.. i just have 52% win on lordaeron (290 wins)...

1. Type normal. This isnt messenger or something like that.

2. archers + kotg is cool early game, especially against grunts and fiends.

3. cheap, build fast, no hall required, they HURT.|||Jesus Mothereffing Christ, I suck like whoa.|||wth did he said, ipod?|||LoL ED = nandazzar, no? He had an account called nandazzar on northrend...|||Archers + demon hunter + immolation = Early game pwnage.|||demon hunter = pwnage all game long|||demon hunter = pwnage all game long|||Human players hate the DH so much they feel they have to repeat how imba he is.... ;)

Oh yeah, and immolation = lol freewin.

  1. As a night elf soloer in this dead game with 87+% win rate at battlenet, I can tell you this. Archers are overpowered. PERIOD

    The reason archers are so abused in pro games is:
    1. Long range (easy to micro)
    2. High damage and is PIERCING
    UD = Rapes ghouls/fiends
    ORC = Rapes burrows
    HU = Rapes towers that are being built
    NE = In large numbers or when fighting in choke points or in base defense, archers ALWAYS >>>> Huntress
    3. Fast tech. The moment you get huntress hall, you just wasted SO MUCH of your precious time going to tier 2. Ideally, you should be researching tier 2 moment you have just finished your AOW creeping with 1 archer. (13 wisp, 1 hero, 1 archer, (& AoWonders) = 20 food OR 13-4 wisp, AoWonders, 1 archer, 1 hero)
    The rest "needed" archers should be built WHILE teching.
    4. Since your Demon hunter should TECHNICALLY have boots of speed and staff of teleportation (sometimes also sell town portal for circlet -mass circlet abuse effect-), he will be able to tank damage and staff back, eat moon juice, and engage again. Basically, hero = food wall, and archer = damage inputter
    5. They are easy to make and cost only 130 gold, 10 wood
    6. When ghoul/garg rush, proper ne micro with archers can make sure that all ghouls die with no archers lost (moonjuice abuse)

    **You should technically be NOT even lose a SINGLE archer at start of game even if your rushed or pressured. You already got moonjuice, ancient of wonders, hide, elune's grace**
