its different from solo and its very silly stupid and just for smurfing around... in RT you have a noob ally half of the time

the best to discover it is watching some replays (www.replayers.com) and play a few games. i dont play RT anymore because i get frustrated if i see my ally lifting up his tree of life, or using tp at lvl 1 or even worse: making two altars and 3 graveyards, ... RT is a big joke.

i used to play it a lot as orc: what i did was 2 or 3 heros, headhunters, shaman, witchdocs - thats more a supporting army for your ally.

or get tauren+shamans if your ally is in the supporting role :-)

as nightelf i always did: mass archers and then 2 chimroots for chimaeras

+ hyppos if ally doesnt make good anti-air.|||Ignore above post.

2on2 owns, best gamestyle there is in War3, just stick to AT and stay clear of RT.

You want to scout to see whether people are teching or rushing, obviously.

For strat examples, I'd need to know at least your race, ideally your allies race too.

All in all it's not that different from solo, the general stuff like creeping a lot, stopping opposing expos etc are the same.|||Quote:

sorry IP - i was obviously talking about RT and not AT where you choose your ally!

AT rulez, thats a fact.|||imo the big difference between solo and 2v2 is you have to co-ordinate with your ally and work together to be efficient and play good obviously. i know this b/c i always only played solo and then when i started ATing with IP, i played like solo and didn't co-ordinate with him, etc.|||Quote:

...then I screamed at him once or twice and now he does fine. :)|||...Ventrilo helps with that ^^|||haha thanks!if its abt the same as solo then i'll be finem cuz i play lots of solo. but 2v2 dont they pull off funny stunts like mass grunts or smt. not like the conservative style of 1v1?|||Well, noobs often try to do stuff like mass grunts with dual SH or something, and sometimes you see mass strats in higherlevel play too, mostly PotM TC hunt heady or hunt fiend or similar, but basically vs all those strats, as long as you scout it, get a few more t1 units to survive and then get TC / Panda / Pitlord or something second you'll be fine.

Btw, I don't know what race you play but obviously there are some differences to 1on1, for example a UD will almost always go fiends, but as I said, I can't really help you much there without knowing your race as it'd be too much to write else.|||Once I saw a rep with Ud/orc, in this same forum. The orc didn't stoped giving money to the ud, only going dual hero, and the ud had like 3 crypts. Mass ghoul abuse oO|||oh i use ne and my ally is orc. what are some strats that we can use?

also feel free to post starts of other race combos as well, or stuffs that u think a 2v2 newbie like me should knowl.|||Popular Strats for NE/Orc:

PotM mass hunts, TC mass headys/zerkers, which leaves you weak to AoE spells but with an insane damage output.

FS SH grunt raider, KotG Naga archer dryad, or similar, which has a strong earlygame if you abuse entangle a lot and strong herokilling later due to entangle, dryads slow, raiders ensnare, hex, etc.

DH any second hero any units (Naga and archer bear dryad is most used probably), BM any second hero any units (SH or TC and grunt raider is most used probably), which gives you some strong harassing and two heroes with a good damage output lategame.

The basic idea of Orc/NE, when not doing hunt/heady, is that the Orc tanks up the damage and the NE stands behind him and deals it.

And if you have the advantage at t2, an expo can't hurt.|||Quote:

i've done it a few times with a very good ally in AT

I was orc, making three heros (FS BM TC) and 3 towers at base - meanwhile given money constantly to the undead. he massed fiends (spiders) + necro

we won most of those games

we creep together for a while, then i went to the opponents base and constantly kept them busy... my ally creept well then we kill the weakest of the two

other thing we often did was orc/ud

ud = spider necro / 2 heros

orc = shaman witchdocs / 2 heros

works well
