How to win with undead (skill does apply)

[:1]Well this is really a micro tip not to much but it should help also never ever start the game with crypt fiends call me a newb which am not or idiot but in my exp ghouls r better now use a dk as your first hero and do whatever u do to get fast ghouls and some form of def in preb of a rush always assume your opponent is a gosu maphacker words from a much wiser man than i if u dont scout and always expect the opponent the gosu maphack is on his best than your gonna lose now when u dk and about 9-12 ghouls go creep make sure u got halls of the dead as quick as possible not only is it a great thing to do but if u do it fast u can get it up before they can even get a hero in your base (yes u can) but thats my personal srat now take your dk and your ghouls and creep the hardest creeps and do it close to the enemys camp try to avoid him until your dk is around level 3-4 get out your 2nd hero as quick as possible and creep everything that moves now i shoulda said this earlier HOTKEY this will be the saver if u dont hotkey u r a newb put each hero to a diff key i got big hands so i use 1-7 and the ghouls in a group 2 it should be like this 1=dk 2=lich 3=dl and 4=ghouls ok here comes the tricky part in the beggining when u r with your dk n ghouls n u get in a fight push 1 which is your dk and hold shift and highlight all the ghouls this is so your coil will overide cann when u c a unit taking more damage than others make him run halfway from the battle or until u lose the units chasing him if they r idiots they wont catch on and the rest of the ghouls will mop them up btw hit him with coil before he starts to run when he loses the person bring him right back into the battle rinse n repeat with all your ghouls n if u get good at it any early matchup with anyone will result in u kicking their ass ive beat alot of top undead players with this early srat i cant give u my build order cause everytime i do it comes back to kick me in the ass but ill try to do my best to help new undead players is preferred for the upcoming part as it will be more fun intoxicated while u harass with your ghouls and hopefully your second hero they should be moderatly high considering u killed all the creeps or must of them at least while u harass control your base its good to hotkey buildings 2 because u can look at your army and kill kill kill while building your base double space if u wanna build something i meant upgrades n units n such more it gets fun now if u scouted well and expanded and harrased o btw DONT let the opponent expand againist top players sometimes u cant prevent this n u just gotta make sure u have an expan but in the beginning when u r fighting newbs and mods dont let em expand if u scout well this shouldnt ever happen but sometimes luck doesnt go your way get that black c the minute after u expand n have the money make sure u built a sacrificial pit so that u can be ready for whats coming keep him on his toes with constant attacks u killing all the creeps has made it so the only way he can level his heros is by attacking u and since u know how to micro and have upgraded ghouls along with your 2 heros u should own him but dont attack his base unless u know u can take it towers despite what people say if there is more than 5 they cant be ignored they can do wonders if ff on u btw about ud towers dont upgrade them plz they r a waste of cash proper scouting should prevent wt upgrades only upgrade when u KNOW ur gonna be attacked after the bc is done make frostys game over o btw if u scout the base and c them making some air for your ghouls dont be scared just research web and make 4 fiends that will take care of any air they wanna throw at u as well as giving u some extra firepower keep it up he is now defensless and u can toy with him now attack him with your acolytes for a good laugh and alot of cursewords then PWN with your 3 heros who should be pretty high by now and your ghoul and frosty army but be prepared all that is gonna make u pretty so keep it cool and MURDER HIM also if they are orc do a dance CAUSE ORCS ARE ****ING Cheap take this knowledge and diesect it cant spell this word n i aint gonna try well i hope i helped some people and i probally made a couple of people made with my babbling but before i go SCOUT AND MICRO ftw making a counter for all his tricks is a great way to get cursed at but it makes me feel so cheers|||Paragraphs ftw.|||also maphackers are the scum of the earth and any maphacker that gets banned then ahs the nerve to say i paid good money for this game n so what if i cheated should think about the fact that you have taken the fun out of the game for many other people so the loss of your sorry ass is alot better than losing Real PLAYERS (Blizzard logic) i think

Arcanite reaper = Nice as hell Proc

Arcanite reaper = DPS doesn't equal the weapon's usefulness, Arcanite Reaper has higher damage.

Human Strategies

[:1]I have just recently got back to play WC3 frozen throne on battle.net and my first few battles i got my ass handed to me. i was wondering any good Strategies for the humans that u guys have, i cant remeber any of my old ones....

oh ya i just joined yesterday, great site |||Sorry, when I read these kind of posts I always have my doubts...

Be more specific. I mean, nobody, I think, wants to tell you all about Humans. Cause some strats are useless vs Night Elf, while very good vs Orc.

(like mass cast)|||what you have to do is:

1. go to replayers.com and use the search tab to look for some nice replays - download like 50 of them is all possible matchups

2. watch them closely and take a note of the common, most used strats and build-orders

3. have a look at battle.net/wc3 - read all there is about the human race

4. kick ass in solo!

:p thats about how i did it - i got a folder with over 250 replays which i watch during my daily trip on the train :-)

gl hf mate|||Tri barracks.

Set gather point on enemy base.

Mass Footmen.|||Hi air.|||How the f*ck can he get air if ur rushing him like crazy in t1...|||hmmm, by the time you have tri barracks & hero and you are pumping out footies, he might have a 1 or 2 towers and tier2 air... i think|||In TFT you can't tech 2 seconds after the game has started like in RoC... >.<|||Once again: How ret ard ed are you to upgrade when 10 footies are killing ur workers and hero?!|||Le question =

i know sh1t about TFT

forgive me :p|||by the way i.peon - can i ask you something.

Can you still play RoC ladder if you have TFT installed? Think i maybe install TFT and finally switch to it...

thnx 4 feedback|||^^yes you can. it even creates a new account on the TFT ladder with the same name as your RoC account.|||Truth. If you have TFT installed and want to play RoC, just start up RoC instead of TFT... Honestly, get TFT, it's way better.|||well i have played it for a while, but uninstalled it shortly after that.

thing is that there are some many new aspects, maps, heros, combos, ... and i dont have the time to learn all that new stuff :p thats why i stick to the good old RoC

i'm taking a break from work soon, then i think to have a try at TFT again.

thnx for info|||Quote:

lolz pwned xD i hasnt studared french in threa yeers!|||Well, actually of course its la rponse, but if you're doing the ger/fra thing you might as well follow teh correct grammar. |||People, don't forget that we're trying to tell good strategies in here.

A strategy that works very good at me is to build three barracks and mass Footmen, and build two workshops to mass Gyrocopters (that can also attack land). The only downside with this strategy is when you want to have full succes, you'll have to be patient and upgrade attack and defense to the maximum. The good thing is, that Footmen train fast and are cheap, and Gyrocopters are good versus buildings and cheap.

Beware: Much people have problems with this strategy, they say that it's all too slow. So i suggest building some Cannon Towers, Guard Towers and Arcane Towers early on.|||Quote:

hmm, didnt know|||1 footy can creep the green turtles on TR ~.~|||2-3 footies (depends on micro) can creep your natural on Lost Temple, while you harass your opponent so he cant prevent u from fe'ing. Getting owned, even on easy

[:1]I've been playing WC3 for a short bit now, and I have found myself to be absolutely useless at it. Normally I have little trouble with RTS games, such as Star Craft, Warhammer, etc. But I am finding that even on easy I get owned by the computer. I have read through a number of strategies, including a few on these forums, and have tried to apply them to my game.

In my last skirmish I played as the HU vs the NE. Shortly into my game I had about 8 peasants on wood, and 6 on gold (and was in the process of taking over another gold mine). I had 2 barracks sending out units, and a caster hero unit. I did a bit of running around the map killing random baddies (creeps I think they are called) to level up my caster a few times. When my pop had reached about 50, I set off with a mixture of footmen, those rifle guys, and my hero ( a total of about 12 units). I hit the enemy base, footmen out front, backed up by my rifle guys and my hero. I used footmen to hold the front while I picked off choice targets with my gunners. I did decent damage, but ended up routing with only my hero intact.

I very quickly put together another force, and ran them up the other side of the map. I hadn't been attacking the enemy base for 2 seconds before the whole bloody forest exploded with units. Before I could even figure out what was attacking me, all my guys were dead.

After nearly a week of this, I'm about ready to pack it in. I've never had this kind of trouble with a game before, not even close. Part of the problem I'm sure, is due to the fact that I tend to play as a bit of a defensive player, and WC3 doesn't seem to allow for that at all. I have tried all 4 factions, to see if one seemed to fit my style, but haven't had luck in that regard. If there is a faction that is better in defence (like Terrans in SC), I haven't figured it out.

I do want to make this game work for me, but I have limited gaming time, and would rather not spend it getting my butt kicked over and over.

Any thoughts? Based on what you have read above, is there a glaring error in my playing style for this game?|||The better defence is clearly UD. They're towers inflict damage and makes the enemys move slowly.

Nastier defence are NE, the towers cost lots of resources and have a slow shoting speed.|||Note: I haven't played Warcraft III seriously in over a year or something

I am a Human player.

Anyway, most people would tell you that Humans are the best at defense, thanks to their great towers and Militia. Build an Arcane tower near the start of the game to prevent enemy Heroes from picking off your Peasants (you don't need to worry about this against computers though, all they do is walk around leveling up off of creeps, and they eventually attack you after a looong time)

You can also build a Lumber Mill and start making Guard Towers. These are really hard for opponents to work around, especially if you place them well and repair them while they're being attacked. Most high level players will immediately complain to you about Human players "turtling" like this if you asked them.

If you want to take a "cookie cutter" strategy to immediately give yourself a bit of a head start, start out with Archmage as your first hero, and choose Water Elemental (then brilliance aura, then more water elemental as you level up)

Make some Footmen, and creep with the Water Elemental taking the damage from the creeps (send it out in front) so that your Footmen don't get hurt, since they take forever to heal, or cost gold to heal, while the WE will just disappear after 45 seconds anyway. I think it was 45 seconds. >_>

Your strategy sounded good overall, you probably just made some simple mistakes. Make sure to send a Militia running around near the beginning of the game to determine where your opponent's base is (assuming you're on a map with more than 2 starting locations)

Try to scout out what your opponent is doing, and try to interrupt them as they're trying to creep, or counter their strategy. Computers are really stupid, they always do the same thing. One thing that will improve you really fast is watching your replays You will see what mistakes you made, when, and where.

That's about all the advice you should need for now... good luck. :P|||Not to insult the other posters, but they're offering solutions to symptoms and not addressing the real reason you're losing.

You lost because you're approaching this like a strategy game. This isn't a strategy game, this is a hero game. Your units don't really matter, your economy doesn't really matter. All that matters is that your heroes are a higher level and more-adeptly controlled than your opponents'.

You said you are a defensive player. That's fine, and it works. But being defensive doesn't mean the same thing in warcraft as it means in a strategy game. Being defensive means killing creeps instead of killing enemies. That's it. It doesn't mean making towers. Towers are a waste. It means creeping nonstop until someone attacks you whereupon you teleport back to your base and defend.

Now if we break down your gameplay description, you'll find that some of your thoughts and actions have been exactly wrong.
Quote:

- Max capacity of a gold mine is 5, not six. This doesn't matter though.

- Max number of useful peasants is around 6 unless you're making a bunch of towers or teching, which you shouldn't bother with if you're a beginner.

- You were expanding. You can end every game vs a computer without another mine.

- More than 1 barracks. This is actually hurting you because you're feeding more units to the enemy heroes.

- "A caster hero unit". This is where your problem is. You have to personally identify with your hero unit. He is you. You have to know his name, his abilities, his strengths, his items, his favorite color. When he gets hit, you get hit. When the enemy attacks him, you are getting attacked. When he is about to die, you run EVERYONE away from battle or teleport out. You can beat a computer on easy with just a well-equipped hero; you can't beat the computer with any amount of regular units (baring some extreme forms of expanding or abuse).

Now, pick a race, pick a hero, pick a 2-player map, and only play that combination until you can win easily on it.

Easiest single heroes to learn with are Mountain King with Storm Bolt and Bash (human), Blademaster with windwalk and critical strike (orc), Death Knight with Death Coil and Unholy Aura (undead), or Keeper of the Grove with Entangle and Force of Nature (night elf).|||I have just been getting back into Warcraft 3 as well.

You should start by using those few maps where players are cut off from each other by forrest. The AI is not good at clearing forrest, especially if they are NE! so you will get much more time to prepare. Just don't put artillery type units anywhere near the Forrest barrier or you will wonder why there is suddenly an enemy amada flooding over your base (been there, done that).

Apart from that, on open maps, i discovered another trick... If the computer player spawns close to you, this is good! You can build towers to defend your base and then send out lone artillery units to hit and run the enemy base. They will chase and your own forces combined with towers should withstand those overwhelming armies the AI seem to get their hands on so early on in the game. Keep sniping and ambush them this way and you will soon break them!|||I accept with information: - Max capacity of a gold mine is 5, not six. This doesn't matter though.

New Rules and Forum Setup :

[:1]Hey guys :)

It seems i'm the new Moderator of the General Strategies Forum* In this, I'd like to implement a new layout for how we'll do things around here. First off, however, I'd like to post the new Rules for this Section of the Forum:

RULES:

[1.] NO Flaming, whatsoever. If you don't like a strategy or feel offended by some thing, post a logical, well layed out, and mature argument. Flaming and immature insults beingn tossed around shall NOT be tolerated.

[2.] Criticize strategies, but make it constructive. Any posts that have personal attacks or roughly criticize a strategy without giving explanation as to why, or any info on how to improve the strategy, will be edited or deleted. (i.e. "Your strategy SUCKS." shall not be accepted. However, "Your strategy is flawed because..." SHALL be accepted.

[3.] Make sure your strategies are thought out and give specific info. However, any "at the moment" strategy thoughts shall be accepted...I'm a flexible guy.

[4.] All topics in this forum are meant for strategies in general...if you have a topic that belongs in a different forum and it's no longer here, don't worry, I probably just moved it. If you feel it shouldn't have been moved, PM me, we can work things out.

[5.] Make sure to try and read this well done "Rules" post by HiroHito, comically labeled "The Ten Commandments of the Unofficial WarCraftIII Forums". The link is HERE.

NEW FORUM SETUP:

Ok, heres the NEW forum setup, guys:

This section is SOLELY dedicated to General Strategies, meaning strategies in GENERAL, or strategies from every race. In this forum, however, theres a unique set up. If you post a good, well-rounded, and detailed strategy, I'll sticky it. The visitors of the Section will critique it, eventually allowing you to perfect it and chisel it into a Strategy-monster. Once I feel it has reached it's peak, I will forward the Strategy to Elly or Rush to post it in the Strategy Compendium. Pretty simple, and hopefully, you guys, as I hope you are, are up for the task :) If you ever think your strategy should be stickied, make sure it follows these guidelines:

[1.] It has specific info, and isn't a jumbled mess of information.

[2.] It is organized and set-up.

[3.] Detailed, and at least SOME WHAT comprehensive.

If it meets those 3 standards, PM me, and I'll see what I can do after we talk. I'll also occassionally sticky a unique, or generally funny, strategy that is posted

I'll allow the current posts already in here, and will tolerate non-strategy posts, just as long as they stick to the game, and game-tactics, theme.|||Oka |||Congrats D, hope you'll enjoy the new job |||Nice ruleset, speaking as an expert here

[:1]Please folks, DO NOT respond to spam threads, unless you want to see more spam.

When a bot posts a spam thread, and people respond, the board sends an email to the spammer. This verifies that the board is legit, and it has active members who read and reply to posts.

Miscellaneous Questions Anyone?

[:1]Okay so technically this is a thread for us n00bs to ask questions that the g0su ones can help answer...

My first question: Do passive abilities (ie Bash, Critical Strike) work on magic immunes? Can you Bash a Dryad or Critical Strike a Spell Breaker?|||Ok my question: What do you do with melee? move offensively behind the enemy or focus fire? If focus fire; is it worth the attention?

Oh, and sorry I cant answer the first question. |||Quote:

yep.

Oh, and sorry I cant answer the first question.

if i'm acting as a meatshield, i just stand there and whack a bit, pulling out wounded units so they can do some more dmg later. if i'm not the (only) meatshield, i'll do something more like surround heroes. focus firing with melee is kinda.. pointless, only useful in the early game with few units. later on you'll just get blocked the whole time and it's better to let your units hit something instead of running around. leave the focus firing to your ally.|||true its only useful to ff with melee in early game. In late its useless. This has been my mistake sad to say. I've lost some games like this. FF with ranged it kicks ass. THats why you should get melee with aoe passives like pulverize so they in a way FF half the time.

My question: IS there any other micro for the units when they are in battle (units like melee ranged, whatever), other than dancing, FF, running, considering leaving all spells out. I mean it would be to make your units even more effective and stuff like that.

thx |||Quote:

Heh, you already have an impressive list of points there my friend* ^^

I'd say:

- Use abilities like ensnare and devour

- Try to surround heroes, or maybe retreating kodso that just ate your Tauren

- Try to block: I've seen replays of Walach where he used his wolves (with good ol' RoC move speed) to get in the way of a reatreating enemy hero, so they slowed him down while Walach's own hero and other units could get extra hits in. Very hard to do if you ask me, but worth it if you can pull it off.|||well, pb... too bad the pathing got 'improved' and the faster units/heroes will now be gentlemen and let the slow units/heroes walk in front of them.

now your fleeing hero with 10 hp will even be so 'good mannar' to let that sheep move before running for his own life.

blizzard has a strange definition for fixing things. remember the 4 peon gold mines? they 'fixed' it by making all gold mines f'cked up if you ask me, when a gold mine is not loaded with 5 peons they run so damn slow..|||Quote:

yep.

if i'm acting as a meatshield, i just stand there and whack a bit, pulling out wounded units so they can do some more dmg later. if i'm not the (only) meatshield, i'll do something more like surround heroes. focus firing with melee is kinda.. pointless, only useful in the early game with few units. later on you'll just get blocked the whole time and it's better to let your units hit something instead of running around. leave the focus firing to your ally.

Cool* Thanks dude.|||Spell damage=Magic damage?

Let's say your NCL uses level 3 impale on a bunch of footies. Will they only take the regular 110 damage, or due to heavy armour's 150% extra damage from magic, will they take 165 damage? All figures do not include reduction.|||not that I've seen, y03 ... I've watched how much damage Life Drain does on a Heavy armor type unit, it does exactly what the numbers say, spells only do less damage to heroes and high level creeps that as blizzard put it 'hero type resistance to spells'|||I know about the shift and control uses, so what I want to know is just how many commands can you string together?

example: peon comes out and you order up a burrow, then a second burrow, then go cut wood and you are done with that worker. A simple string yes.

So I am praticing on the pc and just for the sake of practice (because I got hard owned by the OB.Master a few days ago) I go with the BM as my hero. During the game (on TR) I am scouting and creeping and get some sentry wards. So I string the commands: 1) for my BM to go to the Und base 2) place a sentry ward 3) envoke Mir.Imag 4) return to the goblin merchant shop 5) hold position. It worked* But I was wondering just how many commands could you string?

Also if you command a group of say 11 units to go to say a creep location using attack, then have say the Shadow Hunter set down a serpent ward and a doc drop a healing ward there and then set then to hold position then return to base---Will that cause them to go to the creeps take them out and then return? Or will they go there, drop the wards while the other units do a little fighting and then return without killing the creeps? For this to maybe work it would have to be during the day so the creeps auto see and attack because the object is of course to not have to micro the entire battle so you can do something at your base with the time. Maybe a bad example because of creep jacking etc. but it is just an example using several units and go to commands.

DB

ps..I would try this myself but I am not exactly fast enough so that many strung commands are already being executed by the time I am done giving them all= wasted effort for the purpose-until I get more use to the keys and sequences.|||Elune's Grace, how has it affected archer usage if at all?|||Quote:

basically no maximum to commands you can stack, just try out yourself. when your altar is building, you can rally the flag on the ground, use shift to spam a lot on the ground (preferrably on different spots on the same screen) and you'll see how many flags there are on the ground. once your hero is coming out he'll follow all the flags.

about your 2nd answer, i dunno if i understood it correctly. did you mean using some kind of ward to stay near creeps so if the enemy passes, you can spot him and creepjack him? if so... i'd say using sentry ward instead of healing ward? healing ward costs 200 mana. if you don't have sentry, i'd use serpent, i already did this several times, but i was never lucky enough to spot my enemy with a serpent ward :)

Elune's Grace, how has it affected archer usage if at all?

yeh, it did affect the usage of archers. i remember in the tft beta pure wyvs could beat pure archers. thanks to elune's grace archers own wyvs now.

maybe it's just me, but i noticed that almost all night elf units have 3-4 abilities.. kinda unfair.|||been a few days.

Anyway, what I was trying to say is that when using multiple commands in a string with multiple units involved so that you could get things set up before the action takes place would it work? Like the creeping example- some creep spots aren't a real danger, so in order to take care of them for whatever may be dropped and for the xp, and at the same time that the units are doing the creeping I can manage the base building or focus on say some BM harassement at the opponent base.

Do the creeping with the SH and a small group while the BM harasses, the SH can be given the command to go to the spot and put down the serpent ward but if you give the command to hold position and then move back to base will the SH and the group still take out the creeps or will the pc read the commands as go-put ward up-hold position (just long enough to count the command)-and then immediately return? I thought that maybe with movement commands it wouldn't work as I had in mind. I could just not give the return command and then the group would do the creeping and I could move them after. Getting a little ahead of my abilities and skill I'm afraid...LOL..

DB|||yeh, just 'w' + left-click on ground, then shift + right-click back in your base and he'll plant ward + go back to base.|||Quote:

The commands arent timed, so if u Hold them as part of the command queue, they will just hold position and not move on to the next command. If u want to shift queue a creep order, try "a" directly on one of the creeps first. That way, even if they are sleeping, ur guys will wake them up and start the fight. Then queue in attack move so they will stick around to kill everything else, then queue them to go home. I wouldnt recommend making the queue too complicated though cuz it takes more time than just commanding on the fly. Things like wards I would prob place manually unless I am just sending WDs around the map to place sentries. And the other thing queueing is most useful for is peon scouting.|||Cool, thanks.

I don't think I exampled well for this discussion though. If I can figure out a better example I'll try again.

DB|||Question.

I have in my ctrl group an AM with some footies. The subgroup highlighted is the AM. Let's say I use the ctrl+move so that only my AM moves around. Instead of just move, I missed the ctrl key, when I right clicked the ground in front of the enemy base.

After that brief click, I hit 'B' and clicked on the peon line. I saw my footies running towards the enemy base after my AM got hit by burrows.

If I hit 'S' [for stop] or 'H' [for hold position], do I cancel blizzard channeling as well?

Oh and one more thing. If a hero is hit with multiple different slowers [e.g quake + hex + cripple + nova + clap + slow + banish] will it still move or will it be stunned? It kinda happened to me once, but my hero was not really moing except that he turns around in every direction before moving. Lucky I had scroll of speed to escape [see a penguin running at mach3, lmfao].|||I think you cancel Blizzard as well, but I'm not sure. I also think that units have a minimum movement speed, but I am once again not sure.|||If u press "stop" while your group is selected (including AM), then everyone will stop. So blizzard (or any other chanelling spell) would stop as well.

As for the other thing, "slow" and "stun" are two different effects. Hex or cripple or quake, etc. will still allow u to move very slowly. Clap or stomp are stunning spells that make u completely not able to move or do anything else for a few seconds.|||With no long example.

If you Lightning Strike or use Heal Wave on a single unit does it just work that one strike or will it "bounce-strike" that single unit as many times as per level of the ability?

DB|||only one.. would be major imbalanced if it would 'bounce' on the same target :y-sneaky:|||Quote:

I should mention that I think "stop" is the only command that includes AM when you press it and he's blizzarding (and im not even sure about this). "Hold", "Move", "Attack", etc will NOT work if your AM is blizzarding, you need to press either ctrl to get only him or f1 then the command (so stop madly right clicking to get your AM to run).|||Would like to ask everyone, what is the specific hero nuke for the different races? the one that is most effective?|||Quote:

Human: Storm Bolt. Banish first for more abuse.

Night Elf: Shadow Strike. Entangling roots isn't a nuke, but it and SS pretty much guarantee hero kill...

Orc: Orcs don't really have a good hero nuke. Hex+ff works well though. Chain Lightning and Shockwave are mainly good for AoE. Blademaster doesn't work.

Undead: Death Coil, Frost Nova, and for toppings, add Impale or Carrion. UD is the best hero nuking race, but they are not far ahead of humans.|||Quote:

Against UD, HU can use the much-feared Bolt/Holy Light combo. Again, with the possibility of Banish to make it even worse.

I used to focus on hero kills in RoC when I played NE, and Entangle/Mana Burn works pretty well, but it's not nearly as good as UD nuke.|||My questions.

How do top players (like CadX2-Craft) get experience for their heroes when creeping when their hero is nowhere near the creeps getting killed?

How long is it (game time e.g. when it first turns night-time.) before I can hire a hero from a Tavern?|||Quote:

TFT made it so your hero can get exp from kills anywhere in the map. Thus, creeping with no hero around is possible.

I'm not sure when you can get a hero from the tavern...|||somewhere after the 6th dot of the 1st day, no way not before night.|||you can get a tavren hero the same time a hero would normally come out of an alter in start of game... dont know how much that helps...

question: ok this ALWAYS pisses me off. i ctrl + 1 a group of troops, and only afterwards notice i have a peon in the group. is there anyway to ungroup a unit?

other question: this ias an age-old debate.... do AOE spells like 2 blizzards from 2 different heros stack? some people say they dont, but in a game 2 humans gave my team fire, and it seemed to be stacking.. any ideas?
